Program Overview

Virtual Tour The Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University (McMaster) has established itself as one of the premier engineering schools in North America. It offers programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels and provides students with access to state-of-the-art facilities in all disciplines.

Undergraduate students enter a common first year, 'Engineering I', exploring the fundamentals of engineering before choosing their discipline in level two. Five-year options which enrich the students’ experience include Engineering and Management or Engineering and Society. The extremely flexible co-op program is available as an option for all engineering programs, however, it is not mandatory.

Highlights

One of Canada's widest ranges of undergraduate engineering program options including studies in Electrical & Biomedical Engineering, Chemical & Bioengineering, Mechatronics and Software & Game Design. The Faculty of Engineering also encompasses the Bachelor of Technology program (B.Tech.) and Computer Science (B.A.Sc.)
The Globe and Mail Canadian University Report 2012 gave McMaster top marks in the "A" category for: quality of education, reputation with employees, recreation and athletics, and atmosphere
Research Infosource, a leading R&D intelligence paper, ranked McMaster as one of the Top 10 Canadian Research Universities and ranked McMaster second in research intensity
Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China ranked McMaster as one of only 4 Canadian universities in the Top 100 of their Academic Ranking of World Universities for the last 9 years
The Times Higher Education Supplement 2013 ranked McMaster in the Top 100 World Universities and the QS World University Ranking 2011 placed McMaster in the Top 200 World Universities
