Program Overview

McGill University's Macdonald Campus offers a number of Bachelor of Science programs in applied sciences. The BSc (AgEnvSc) degree provides a choice of six majors, paired with a number of specializations, options or domains. The BSc (NutrSc) degree has majors in dietetics and human nutrition, the BSc (FoodSci) program offers a major in food science and the two departments jointly administer a concurrent degree in both nutrition and food science. There is also a BEng (Bioresource) degree program in bioresource engineering. Certificate and diploma programs in environment, ecological agriculture and food science are also available.

Buildings & Facilities

The Macdonald Campus covers more than 1,600 acres from lakeshore to forest and includes some of Canada's top field facilities for teaching and research in environmental sciences and agriculture, including the Morgan Arboretum, McGill Herbarium, Lyman Entomological Museum and university farm. The Mary Emily Clinical Nutrition Research Unit provides a centre for in-house metabolic studies. The library maintains a large collection on biological, environmental, agricultural, food and nutritional sciences, as well as online catalogues, CD-ROM workstations and PCs directly linked to all McGill libraries and libraries around the world. The campus also offers outstanding science laboratories for all programs.
