Institute Overview

Virtual Tour When Lakeland College (Lakeland) opened in 1913, there were only 34 students enrolled. Today Lakeland has campuses in Lloydminster and Vermilion and serves more than 7,000 full-time and part-time students, but is as tight-knit as ever.

Lakeland's comfortable setting allows students to focus on learning. Lakeland's award-winning programs are designed to ease student transition into the work force or to further study at a four-year institution. The options for study are as diverse as the college. More than 60 degree, diploma, certificate, apprenticeship, university transfer and online programs are available.

  • Lakeland's Interior Design Technology program is Canada's first interior design program affiliated with the National Kitchen and Bath Association
  • If students are in Grade 12 and their Grade 11 average was 85% or higher, they have already earned a scholarship of $1,500 to $3,500 to Lakeland
  • Lakeland's services for students are designed to help students succeed
  • Students Live the Learning through hands-on projects, practicum placements, labs and industry projects

    Buildings & Facilities

In the past few years millions of dollars have been spent on the construction of new buildings and the modernization of older facilities. For instance, the two-storey Bill Kondro Wing opened at the Lloydminster campus in 2008. The wing has 400 classroom seats and numerous labs. At the Vermilion campus, the nine residence buildings have been completely renovated and a new Student Centre has been built. Other projects include a new day care at the Lloydminster campus and additional classrooms for trades programming at the Vermilion campus.
