Program Overview

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba offers four-year programs leading to a bachelor of science degree in engineering. All undergraduate engineering programs are fully accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board, satisfying academic preparation requirements for membership in the professional licensing bodies of both Canada and the US.

Programs integrate basic sciences, mathematics and engineering principles with study options in humanities, social sciences and management. The first year of study is common to all engineering programs. In the second year, students specialize in one of five branches of engineering: Biosystems, Civil, Electrical and Computer, and Mechanical.


Cooperative education and industry internship opportunities in all programs
Minors are available in Music, Arts, Management, Mathematics and Computer Science
North America's First Engineers-in-Residence provide industrial practice and relevance to students and faculty
Specializations in Environmental Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering available
