Program Overview

The Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Regina (U of R) is an environment of diverse artistic expression and study. Faculty members are dynamic working artists with international experience. The Faculty of Fine Arts offers undergraduate programs in Film, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Creative Technologies, an interdisciplinary program.

The Faculty of Fine Arts offers a well-rounded, broad-based education that supports students' art practice and study.

Buildings & Facilities

Facilities include two-fully equipped theatres, an art supply store, the Dr. John Archer Library, and the student-run Fifth Parallel Gallery. Also, each department in Fine Arts has facilities that support student study and artistic practice.

University Theatre is a modern proscenium theatre with seating for up to 425. Its features include a fly tower, wheelchair accessibility, a box office, and a spacious lobby.

Shumiatcher Open Stage (the Shu-Box) is a smaller venue with seating for up to 165, depending on the performance configuration. It features flexible stage and seating layouts, wheelchair accessibility, a box office, and a spacious lobby.
