The Private College Association of Nova Scotia (PCANS) is a provincial association representing the interests of career colleges in Nova Scotia since 1995. Membership in PCANS means adhering to a specific code of ethics, so that students attending PCANS member schools receive the best quality facilities, education and support. PCANS makes sure each member school's curriculum stays aligned with industry requirements so that students attending a PCANS career college are assured of getting a vocational education that meets industry needs and gives students the grounding for a solid future. PCANS also works to promote its member institutions (listed below)--and their students and programs--to high schools, government agencies, aboriginal councils, and even Canadian Consulates and Embassies around the world. As an active member of the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC), PCANS is part of a national network of provincial career college associations which work to maintain relationships with industry and government, and to raise awareness about the important role of career colleges in post-secondary education.
