CAREER COLLEGES IN ALBERTA AT A GLANCE 
Alberta is one of Canada's larger provinces and is known for its geographic variety and economic vibrancy. From the Rocky Mountains to desert badlands, from oil sands to art galleries, from small rural towns to bustling urban centres Alberta is a province rich in opportunity. Alberta's diversity is also reflected in its career college, vocational and trade programs, many of which focus on regionally-specific industries and interests. Training in traditional industries such as oil and gas, agriculture, transport and tourism share place with emerging industries like software development, alternative medicine & esthetics, and information/ communication technology. The following list is not meant to be comprehensive, but is an overview of the breadth of Alberta's career colleges and programs.

FIRST NATIONS EDUCATION
Blue Quills First Nations College (St. Paul): Their unique Leadership & Management Program covers business, management and leadership skills grounded in Indigenous knowledge, experience and philosophy.

Red Crow Community College (Cardston): A founding member of the First Nations Adult and Higher Education Consortium (FNAHEC), Red Crow offers diploma and degree programs in partnership with a number of Alberta universities and community colleges.

APPLIED HEALTH CARE
Professional Medical Associates (Calgary and St. Albert): Provides training for all levels of Emergency Medical Service practitioners as well as educational programs in emergency medical services.

Alberta Institute of Massage (Red Deer): Teaches the skills, knowledge, creativity and compassionate touch to improve clients' health and wellness.

Eveline Charles Academy (Edmonton): In addition to courses in esthetics and cosmetology, the Medical Spa program prepares students to perform advanced and medical esthetics services.

BUSINESS/ ADMINISTRATION
CDI College of Business and Technology (Calgary, Edmonton): The School of Business at CDI offers a wide range of business, administration and management programs.

Slate Training Centre (Edmonton): A purely business-oriented school, Slate offers business programs such as accounting, office administration (including medical and dental office specializations), management and hospitality.

Campbell College (Edmonton): Offers a full-time, instructor-led, seven month Administrative Professional Diploma program that prepares graduates for immediate employment into all areas of administrative and clerical positions.

Mayfair Business College (Grande Prairie): Owned and operated by a full-service employment agency, Mayfair Business College specializes in computer and office skills training.

TRADES AND APPRENTICESHIPS
GRB College of Welding (Edmonton): This specialist school teaches all levels of welding from the pre-employment welder to Journeyman.

Bredin Institute -- Centre for Learning (Edmonton, Spruce Grove, and Calgary): Through partnership with Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Bredin Institute offers no-cost pre-apprenticeship training programs in the construction industry.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY
Digital School (Edmonton): Specializes in computer-aided drafting and design training.

Academy of Learning (Airdrie, Calgary, High River, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer): Offers a multitude of technology related programs in different areas, such as graphics & web design and information technology.

DevStudios (Edmonton): This digital education school focuses on motion graphics, 3D animation and digital audio production.

TOURISM, RECREATION, SPORT
National Coaching Institute (Calgary): The National Coaching Institute Calgary offers a two-year diploma program designed to develop students into world-class high performance coaches.

Robertson College (Calgary): Their business and technology programs include international hospitality & hotel management and travel counselling.

SOCIAL SERVICES/ HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
Gardner College (Camrose): A Christian institution, Gardner offers early child development and child & youth care worker programs in addition to a number of theology certificates and diplomas.

EmployAbilities (Edmonton): Offering full-time training programs, EmployAbilities specializes in learning and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.

OIL AND GAS
Reeves College (Calgary, Edmonton, Lloydminster): Business and Administrative studies include the Oil and Gas Administration diploma.

CDI College (Calgary, Edmonton): The School of Business at CDI offers the oil and gas administrative assistant program focusing on office skills and industry-related terminology.

Blue Quills First Nations College (St. Paul): Their oilfield worker program takes the unique perspective of the oil and gas industry from an Indigenous Nations perspective.
