The University of New Brunswick (UNB) is the centre for research and graduate studies in New Brunswick, and is also a spearhead for the social and economic agenda of Atlantic Canada. The university is known for its innovative and high-calibre programs in military and strategic studies, leadership, astronomy, multimedia studies, engineering, computer science, law, creative writing, biotechnology, forestry and e-business, among others. UNB is home to the only NASA-supported planetary imaging facility in Canada, as well as to the Canadian Rivers Institute, Canada's only university-based research institute for river ecosystems.
Students at UNB Saint John have the choice of undergraduate degree programs in Business Adminsitration, Arts, Science (with optional specialties in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering and Financial Mathematics), Information Sciences, Education, Applied Management, Nursing and Health Sciences.
The focus at UNB Saint John is on experience and training. There are opportunities for co-op work terms, internships, on-campus work studies and paid part-time undergraduate research. As much as possible, courses incorporate field study and address community issues through case studies.
