The University of Alberta School of Business offers a four year Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree. The program gives students a broad background in the many different areas of business as well as in related fields in the humanities and social sciences.

The BCom program is a "1+3" year degree program. All students are required to complete a pre-professional year in order to apply to the program. Generally, most students complete their pre-professional year at the University of Alberta. The pre-professional year can also be completed at another accredited post-secondary institution.

The Alberta School of Business building is situated in the northeast corner of the main campus and overlooks the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton. The business building is conveniently connected to the HUB International building where the International Centre, Students' Union Information Services and other amenities are located.

Business students have access to excellent resources and technological facilities within the Business building, including the Winspear Business Reference library, computer labs and a wireless network. BCom students have access to download an extensive library of Microsoft products free of charge. University of Alberta Libraries is Canada's second largest research library.
